THE FLOW OF THE DIOSAZ

In July and August, the water flow is totally natural and depends on the weather.  Rain and high temperatures (mostly at the beginning of summer) increase the volume of the torrent.  After a storm, the flow is exceptional and can be very impressive.

In June and September, the water flow is much feebler as it is controlled by EDF (Electricité de France) who turbines the water and pours it out again below the trail path.

Within the framework of an agreement with EDF, some days in June have normal flow rates.  If you wish to visit the gorges in order to see the immense cascades you should programme your visit between Saturday 19th and Sunday 30th June (beetween 2 and 5pm).

A WALK FOR ALL TASTES :

At the end of the walk you can observe and admire the natural erosion of la Diosaz and contemplate the majesty and raw beauty of Mother Nature while standing in front of the cascading waterfalls.  Numerous information boards explain the geology and history of the gorges helping you to better understand this listed site.

A WONDER OF NATURE!

Les Gorges de la Diosaz offers a spectacular and unusual visit into a natural and wild environment.   The shaded and well equipped footpath is easy and solidly implanted, sometimes into the steep rock face, sometimes even crossing the torrent by solid footbridges, allowing you to enter into the mysterious and picturesque landscape.  A good idea for a stroll, this natural site is as fascinating in good weather as it is in the rain!
